Indicators of consumer price changes for goods and services are presented as monthly indices for the period from January 1991 to December 2026. The table contains two data series distinguished by their base of comparison: one series shows price changes relative to the end of the previous month, and the other relative to December of the previous year. These values allow for tracking both short-term fluctuations in the cost of living and accumulated inflation during each calendar year for the entire territory of the Russian Federation

How to read this table

The choice between rows depends on the purpose of the analysis: the series relative to the end of the previous month reflects current inflationary dynamics, while the series relative to December of the previous year helps assess the rate of price growth since the beginning of the current year. By comparing these indicators, users determine how inflation intensity changed in specific months and how significantly prices shifted compared to the final values of the previous year. The table records changes from 106.2 in January 1991 to 99.92 in August 2026

What is visible in these numbers

Monthly observations; total periods 432. 464 out of 864 possible values are filled (53.7%). A smaller part of the table is filled, therefore direct comparison of positions between periods may be misleading

The figures will be useful for price list revisions, disputes with suppliers regarding indexation, and calculating real rather than nominal sales dynamics

Rosstat regularly updates the values as information for new months becomes available, covering the entire period from 1991 to 2026. The monthly breakdown helps all interested parties perform accurate calculations of the consumer basket cost and monitor market changes in domestic inflation dynamics

No 671-р, Росстатом разрабатывается показатель «Индекс потребительских цен» (ИПЦ), который используется в качестве одного из основных показателей, характеризующих уровень инфляции в Российской Федерации; 2)август 2026 г. в % к декабрю 2025 г. Руководствуясь теорией статистики, для получения ИПЦ за произвольный период необходимо перемножить все входящие в этот временной промежуток индексы, характеризующие изменение цен в отчетном периоде по сравнению с предыдущим. Так, например, индекс потребительских цен по Российской Федерации за период апрель 2025 г. - сентябрь 2025 г. рассчитывается следующим образом: 100,40 * 100,43 : 100 * 100,20 : 100 * 100,57 : 100*99,60:100*100,34:100= 101,55% Обращаем Ваше внимание, что в январе 1998 г. была проведена деноминация, в результате которой произошло уменьшение масштаба цен в 1000 раз.
