How to read this table
The differences between the rows lie in the methodology for comparing current prices. The first series records price changes relative to the previous month, allowing for the assessment of short-term fluctuations. The second series relates prices to December of the preceding year, which helps to understand the cumulative inflationary effect within a calendar year. These indicators should be compared to identify seasonal spikes and assess the overall price dynamics for durable and everyday non-food goods
What is visible in these numbers
Observations are monthly, the dataset contains 432 periods. Out of 864 possible values, 463 (53.6%) are filled. There are many gaps — some positions were observed only in certain periods; this should be taken into account when making comparisons
The figures will be useful when revising the price list, disputing with a supplier over indexation, and calculating real, rather than nominal, sales dynamics
The same indicator in other breakdowns (3)

Period and application
Data is updated by Rosstat as monthly statistics for the specified period from 1991 to 2026 are accumulated. This data is in demand by analysts, economists, and specialists monitoring market conditions and consumer purchasing power. The information allows for a detailed study of price changes for the non-food group of goods over a long time span, including periods of economic transformation and the stabilization of market processes in the country
How it is calculated
Rosstat notes: July 2026 as a percentage of December 2025. Please note that in January 1998 a redenomination was carried out, resulting in a 1 000-fold reduction in the price scale. (Excluding statistical information for the Donetsk People’s Republic, the Luhansk People’s Republic, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions.)
