Freight transport by entrepreneurs on a commercial basis
Sole proprietors engaged in commercial road freight transport report their activities annually; this table presents the results of these surveys for the period 2000–2024. The table records two key indicators: total mass of goods transported in million tonnes and freight turnover in million tonne-kilometers. These data allow for an assessment of the scale of private business involvement in the country's transport system and track changes in work volumes over twenty-five years

How to read this table
The two rows in the table separate indicators by the physical weight of goods and by the transport work performed, which accounts for distance traveled. Comparing these series helps to understand the relationship between the quantity of goods transported and transport intensity. In 2000, entrepreneurs transported 33.1 million tonnes of goods, whereas by 2024, this figure reached 270.4 million tonnes. Analyzing these rows makes it possible to see the extent to which growth in transport volumes is accompanied by an increase in transport distance
