Distribution of wages by 20-percent groups of employees, 2011–2023

· snapshot · rows: 15 · periods: 8 · section: Russian Statistical Yearbook (2024)

The share of wages across different employee strata is divided into five equal groups to assess wage inequality. Rows divide all employees into 20-percent segments from the lowest to the highest paid, while columns show data for April of each year from 2011 to 2023. Calculations are based on sample surveys of organizations, excluding small businesses. The sum of the shares of all five segments is always 100 percent

How to read this table

Comparing indicators is useful for seeing what share of the total payroll goes to the lowest or highest paid employee categories. Rows show the gap between the first and fifth groups, while annual dynamics show how this distribution has changed in the economy. Calculations use data from large and medium-sized organizations only, excluding small businesses
