How to read this table

Differences between rows illustrate the distribution of the urban population within the country and in specific regions. It is possible to compare the number of men and women in different age intervals and assess the share of young or elderly people in each subject. The data is presented as a one-time snapshot, where each of the ninety-seven rows refers to a specific territory of the Russian Federation

What is visible in these numbers

What is measured: Total; including by age, years

Cells with numbers 50 out of 50 (100%); there are practically no data gaps

Period and application

Statistics for 2011 have been updated based on 2020 census data and are suitable for regional demographic analysis. The information is published by Rosstat and may be useful to researchers, urban planners, and those studying population age structures. The data does not show dynamics, representing a fixed snapshot of the urban population for the specified period

How it is calculated

The age composition of the population determines how many years the demand for children's goods in the region will persist and when the demand for medical services for the elderly will begin to grow
