Injuries, poisonings and certain other consequences of external causes
From 2020 to 2024, medical institutions recorded cases of injuries, poisonings and other consequences of external factors. The table shows the number of registered patient diagnoses by year. Rows are categorized by type of exposure, such as head injuries, neck injuries and totals, allowing for comparison of the frequency of different pathologies. The data covers the entire country and includes only diagnoses established during the reporting year
- Total — External causes of morbidity and mortality, including traffic accidents
- Total — Other external causes
- ankle and foot injuries — External causes of morbidity and mortality, including traffic accidents
- wrist and hand injuries — External causes of morbidity and mortality, including transport accidents
- ankle joint and foot injuries — other external causes

Set in numbers
Rosstat data for 2020–2024. Series: 84, periods: 5. Breakdown by positions: Total — External causes of morbidity and mortality, including…; Total — Other external causes; head injuries — External causes of morbidity and mortality…; head injuries — Other external causes; neck injuries — External causes of morbidity and mortality, in… and others
Total — External causes of morbidity and mortality, including transport…: the indicator increased from 11,916 to 13,250 for 2020–2024 — by 11.2%. The highest value is 13,250 (2024), the lowest is 11,916 (2020). This is an average annual growth of 2.69%. Of the 25 largest series, 23 increased, 2 decreased
All table numbers are series: 84
How to read this table
Differences between rows allow for an assessment of morbidity structure by specific types of external causes. The total number of cases can be compared with specific categories, such as head or neck injuries, to identify which exposures predominate in the overall statistics. Comparing columns across different years shows how the number of registered diagnoses changed over the five-year period
What is visible in these numbers
The five highest values: Total — External causes of morbidity and mortality (13,250), Total — Other external causes (12,391), injuries of the ankle and foot region — External causes… (2,408), wrist and hand injuries — External causes… (2,365), injuries of the ankle and foot region — External causes… (2,304). The gap between the highest and lowest is 117.7 times. The top five account for 65.6% of the total across all positions — the distribution is heavily skewed toward the top
Annual observations, the dataset contains 5 observation periods. There are 125 values in the table out of 125 possible, which is 100% — missing values are virtually absent

Period and application
Statistics are published by Rosstat as part of the healthcare section. The data is relevant for analyzing injury rates and the frequency of external impacts on public health. The information covers the period from 2020 to 2024 and can be used to assess the burden on the healthcare system across various types of medical cases
How it is calculated
Rosstat specifies: Other external causes correspond to codes W00 – X50 according to ICD-10
1) Другие внешние причины соответствующие кодам W00 – X50 по МКБ-10.
