Structure of feed consumption by cows and breeding bulls

· snapshot · rows: 93 · periods: 5 · section: Bulletins on the state of agriculture (electronic versions)

The diet of cows and bulls in agricultural organizations is composed of one hundred percent of the total ration, and this table shows the distribution of this volume by feed type. Data for the entire Russian Federation, eight federal districts, and numerous regions are collected in ninety-three rows. The columns reflect the share of each feed type; for example, succulent feeds account for thirty-two percent of the national balance, allowing for an assessment of diet composition across different territories

How to read this table

Federal districts and individual regions form the basis for the row breakdown in this reference material. It is possible to compare both the structure of the feed base across different subjects of the country and the contribution of individual feed types to total consumption. The total value for each region is always one hundred, which facilitates the analysis of feed production preferences and allows for immediate identification of which feed types predominate in a specific area compared to national averages

What is visible in these numbers

The set includes the following indicators: Total feed; including: — concentrated; including: — compound feed; including: — roughage; including: — succulent

Cells with numbers 125 out of 125 (100%); there are practically no gaps in the data

The same indicator in other breakdowns (4)

Period and application

The information is relevant for livestock and agricultural economics specialists analyzing livestock maintenance costs. Rosstat has prepared this breakdown to assess the consumption structure in agricultural organizations without being tied to specific time periods. The data is suitable for diet planning and studying regional farming characteristics, as well as for comparing the feed base in different parts of the country based on current industry statistics

How it is calculated

Sown areas show what will be in abundance and what will be scarce several months before this is reflected on the shelf
