How to read this table

Rows are differentiated by geography: from the total for the Russian Federation to data for individual regions and districts. One can compare indicators within a single region over different years, as well as values for different constituent entities within a single period. This helps to see regional differences in the population composition that is neither employed nor unemployed but has the potential to participate in the economy, based on official Rosstat figures

What is visible in these numbers

Five highest values: Russian Federation (1,731), Central Federal District (263.4), Northwestern Federal District (158.1), Moscow Region (43), Voronezh Region (36.9). The gap between the highest and lowest is 1,548 times. The top five account for 88.4% of the total across all positions — the distribution is heavily skewed toward the top

Observations are annual; there are 7 periods in total. 175 out of 175 possible values are filled (100%); data gaps are virtually absent

Period and application

The information covers the period from 2010 to 2016 inclusive. The statistics will be useful to demographers, economists, and labor market researchers for assessing changes in the labor force structure. Data are presented on an annual basis, which simplifies tracking long-term trends at the national and regional levels. Updates are made according to the Rosstat publication schedule for sectoral reports on employment and unemployment

How it is calculated

Noted in the source itself: Data have been recalculated based on the results of the 2020 All-Russia Population Census
