Changes in the physical volume of tobacco products within gross domestic product are presented quarterly for the period from the first quarter of 1996 to the fourth quarter of 2011. Values are expressed as a percentage of the corresponding period of the previous year, allowing for the observation of growth rates compared to the same quarters in previous years. The table contains nine rows, covering both the overall GDP index and household final consumption expenditure, which helps to compare tobacco industry dynamics with general macroeconomic data

Rows differ by the type of GDP components included in the calculation, including total final consumption expenditure and household consumption. Comparing these series allows for an assessment of how tobacco product usage changed relative to total gross domestic product across different quarters. The extreme values for the gross domestic product series are 97.77772726 in the first quarter of 1996 and 105.2 in the fourth quarter of 2011
