The size of the working population can be compared by comparing values in columns by year and rows by country. The table presents data on Russia and several members of the Commonwealth of Independent States. Due to the different scales of economies, it is important to use absolute values in millions of people to assess the actual number of employed in each specific country
What is visible in these numbers
The table is 80% filled: Rosstat does not publish every cell, and the gaps are left as they are rather than interpolated.

Period and application
Statistics are published in the Statistical Yearbook of Russia. Data for 2010–2023 may be useful to economists, demographers, and labor specialists for analyzing the employment market in the CIS. Data is updated annually according to the Rosstat publication schedule
1) По данным обследований рабочей силы; по данным баланса трудовых ресурсов – Беларусь (2010 г.), Таджикистан. По России: за 2010 г. приведена информация по населению в возрасте 15 – 72 лет, с 2020 г. – по населению в возрасте15 лет и старше. Данные по России за 2021-2022 гг. пересчитаны с учетом итогов ВПН-2020.
2) Изменение методологии: в Армении – с 2018 г., в Республике Молдова – с 2019 г., в Украине – с 2019 г.
3) С 2015 г. – расчет с использованием численности населения с обычным местом жительства.
4) По данным Международной организации труда (Ilostat).
1) According to data of labour force surveys, according to data of the balance of labour resources – Belarus (2010), Tajikistan. For Russia, data for 2010 are presented for the population aged 15–72, since 2020 – 15 years and over. Data for 2021–2022 are presented based on the All-Russian Population Census 2020 results.
2) Change in methodology in Armenia since 2018, in Republic of Moldova since 2019, in Ukraine since 2019.
3) Since 2015 – calculated using of the population with usual place of residence.
4) According to ILO data (Ilostat).
