Trade balance of the Russian Federation according to the balance of payments methodology
The difference between the value of exports and imports of goods in Russia is recorded in these statistics for the period from 2000 to 2023. Values are in millions of US dollars and are distributed across three categories: total figures for the country, separately for CIS countries, and separately for non-CIS countries. Rows are distinguished by the geographical coverage of trading partners, allowing for an assessment of the contribution of different groups of states to the country's total balance

Indicators can be compared by looking at the difference between the total balance and the sums for the CIS and non-CIS countries. The table presents four rows showing what share of the trade surplus or deficit is formed through cooperation with neighboring countries versus the rest of the world. This helps to understand the structure of Russia's foreign trade flows in dollar terms over the last twenty-four years
