How to read this table

Living area intervals per person are presented in eight rows, ranging from the most crowded conditions up to 9.0 square meters. Comparing income groups reveals differences in living conditions across various population segments. For example, among the lowest-income households, the share living in an area of up to 9.0 square meters is 4.4 percent, whereas for the most affluent fifth group, this figure is only 0.3 percent

What is visible in these numbers

The table is 83% filled: Rosstat does not publish every cell, and the gaps are left as they are rather than interpolated.

The statistics are based on the 2024 comprehensive survey and are included in the 2025 yearbook. This information is relevant for living standards researchers, demographers, and social policy specialists analyzing the relationship between citizen welfare and living conditions. Data is updated as new rounds of the state survey on living conditions in Russia are conducted
