The composition of consumer expenditures shows how Russian families spent money from 2010 to 2023. Rows are divided into categories, including food and non-alcoholic beverages, allowing for tracking the redistribution of funds within the budget. Data were collected through the sample household budget survey and reflect the expenditure structure over fourteen years

Different expenditure items are listed in separate rows to facilitate comparison of their share in total expenditure. For example, food expenditures can be compared to total consumption by analyzing changes in the percentage weight of each category. Columns present annual results, allowing for the observation of budget structure dynamics without reference to specific monetary amounts

What is visible in these numbers

The table is 75% filled: Rosstat does not publish every cell, and the gaps are left as they are rather than interpolated.

Period and application

Data are published in the 2025 Russian Statistical Yearbook. The information covers the period from 2010 to 2023 and is based on sample survey results. These indicators are useful for economists and sociologists studying consumer behavior and assessing living standards over different years

1) For 2022-2023 the indicators are calculated without using the All-Russian population census of 2020 results.

2) Information for 2024 is not published in accordance with Part 10 of Article 5 of the Federal Law of November 29, 2007 No. 282-FZ “On Official Statistical Accounting and State Statistics System in the Russian Federation".
