This dataset shows the number of thousands of men and women of various ages living in the country at the beginning of 2024. Rows cover age intervals from children to the elderly, while columns divide the population by sex and place of residence. Data is current as of January 1, 2024, and includes information for the total population, as well as urban and rural areas

Rows are differentiated by age, divided into five-year groups starting from the youngest. Comparing these series shows how the proportion of youth and elderly changes depending on whether people live in urban or rural areas. This allows for assessing the age structure of the population across different living environments

Data is taken from the Rosstat yearbook and reflects the demographic situation on a specific date. Information is presented in thousands of people. These figures help demographers and planners account for the sex-age structure when calculating the burden on social institutions
