· snapshot · rows: 11 · periods: 3 · section: Russian Statistical Yearbook (2025)

Baikal contains twenty-three thousand cubic kilometers of water, and it is just one of the eleven largest bodies of water described in these statistics. The information covers both the current state of reserves as of January 1, 2025, and long-term average indicators for each object. The list includes significant water resources such as Lake Ladoga and Lake Onega, allowing for an assessment of their scale within a single reference series prepared by Rosstat for the yearbook

How to read this table

Eleven rows correspond to various lakes and reservoirs, allowing for a comparison of specific bodies of water with others by volume of stored water. Each row contains two types of data, reflecting the state at the beginning of 2025 and long-term average values. Comparing these columns shows how much the current situation in each specific body of water deviates from the long-term average, providing precise figures in cubic kilometers for the analysis of the country's water resources

Period and application

The information is current as of the beginning of 2025 and is published as part of the Russian Statistical Yearbook. This data is useful for ecologists, geographers, and hydrology specialists to assess the state of Russia's largest water bodies and to monitor the environmental situation in the regions

Для озера Байкал, запасы воды которого очень велики и несопоставимы с их годичными изменениями, объем считается неизменным от года к году.

For Lake Baikal, whose water reserves are very large and incomparable with their annual changes, the volume is considered unchanged from year to year.
