Yield of perennial coverless grasses for green fodder, haylage, and grass meal
The amount of grass harvested per hectare in various categories of farms is reflected in the yield rates of perennial non-grasses. The rows in the list cover all of Russia, federal districts, and individual regions, allowing for a comparison of agricultural efficiency across different parts of the country. Data was collected over two years, from 2020 to 2021, to track the short-term dynamics of forage crop harvesting

Set in numbers
Rosstat data for 2020–2021. Rows: 85, periods: 2. Shown by positions: RUSSIAN FEDERATION — all categories of farms; CENTRAL FEDERAL DISTRICT — all categories of farms; Belgorod Region — all categories of farms; Bryansk Region — all categories of farms; Vladimir Region — all categories of farms and others
Ivanovo Region — all categories of farms: the indicator increased from 69.5 to 1 000 million in 2020–2021 — by 14.4 million times. Of the 24 largest rows, 11 increased, 13 decreased
All table numbers are series: 85
How to read this table
The table rows are categorized by geography: data is presented for the entire country, the Central Federal District, and specific constituent entities, such as the Belgorod Region. This division helps compare grass yields in a specific region against the average for the district or the entire Russian Federation. Each row includes data for all categories of farms included in the statistical accounting
What is visible in these numbers
Five largest values: Ivanovo Region — all categories of farms (1 000 million), Oryol Region — all categories of farms (207.5), Tula Region — all categories of farms (193.8), Kursk Region — all categories of farms (163.9), Kostroma Region — all categories of farms (145.8). The gap between the largest and smallest is 17.1 million times. The top five account for 100% of the total across all positions — the distribution is heavily skewed toward the top
Observations are annual and cover 2 periods. Cells with numbers: 50 out of 50 (100%) — almost no empty cells remain

Period and application
Statistical data for 2020 and 2021 are published as part of bulletins on the state of agriculture. This information is relevant for agronomists, farm managers, and forage base planning specialists. The annual data helps assess the current state of crop production and the volume of forage production for livestock in the regions
How it is calculated
This year’s harvest and livestock numbers determine next year’s procurement prices: processors need such rows earlier than supplier price lists
