Consumption of concentrated feed per head of livestock in
Every year, agricultural organizations in Russia calculate the volume of concentrated feed per head of livestock, and these indicators are presented here for 2022 and 2023. Ninety-five rows allow for a detailed examination of data for the country as a whole, federal districts, and individual constituent entities, including the Belgorod Region. The values show feeding intensity depending on the regional livestock profile, allowing for a comparison of resource expenditure volumes over the two reporting periods for each territory in the list

How to read this table
Comparing regions and districts helps identify differences in the feed base, as each row provides precise data for a specific administrative division. For Russia as a whole, the indicator was 19.75 in 2022 and 32.59358308 in 2023. Analyzing these series allows for an understanding of regional farming specifics, where livestock housing conditions and feed base availability directly affect the final values presented in the columns for the two years, making it possible to assess changes in feed consumption volumes for each constituent entity separately
What is visible in these numbers
Five highest values: Kaluga Region — per 1 cow (38.9), Belgorod Region — per 1 cow (37.4), Vladimir Region — per 1 cow (36.8), Ivanovo Region — per 1 cow (33.8), Central Federal District — per 1 cow (32.8). The top five account for 33.1% of the total across all items
Observations are annual, with 2 observation periods in the dataset. There are 50 values in the table out of 50 possible, which is 100%; data gaps are virtually absent
The same indicator for other periods

Period and application
Statistics for 2022–2023 are published in Rosstat electronic bulletins on the state of agriculture. The information will be useful to farmers, economists, and analysts dealing with livestock production efficiency in various regions of the country, as well as those studying the cost structure in agricultural organizations to plan feed balances for future periods
How it is calculated
Data on sown areas, yield and livestock are used in planning raw material procurement, crop assessment and forecasting food prices
