Millions of US dollars — this is the currency in which the balance of payments records the annual outflow of direct investment from Russia into foreign economies for the period 2010–2021. Each row represents an individual recipient country, allowing for the tracking of investment geography and changes in the volume of capital sent abroad. The "Total" value at the beginning of the table sums all financial flows, providing an overview for each year of the study

Analyzing individual series shows how funds were distributed, while the final row for all countries demonstrates the aggregate scale of Russia's investment presence in the global economy over the twelve-year period
What is visible in these numbers
The five highest values: Total (65 883), Cyprus (47 078), Netherlands (7 035), Luxembourg (2 483), Jersey (2 293). The gap between the highest and lowest is 32 942 times. The top five account for 93.4% of the total across all positions — the distribution is heavily skewed toward the top

Table notes: Balance of operations. Data are presented in accordance with the assets/liabilities principle. The sign (-) indicates a decrease. Since 2022, data have not been published due to the closure of information by the Bank of Russia
