The indicator is measured in billions of US dollars at year-end, enabling long-term comparisons of different national economies. The data is organized into 65 rows, where each country occupies a separate position and changes are tracked via annual values recorded for each specific region

Each row contains a time series showing the accumulation or reduction of assets over fifteen years. Analyzing this data helps reveal how the financial positions of states changed over various years. For example, for Russia, values of 443.59 billion dollars were recorded at the end of 2010 and 413.36 billion dollars at the end of 2024, reflecting the change in its foreign exchange reserves in US dollar terms over the specified period

How it is calculated

Source caveats: According to the Bank of Russia — foreign exchange reserves. Reserve assets exclude financial claims between euro area countries and financial claims in euros of euro area countries on other countries
