Structure of electricity generation in Russia

· dynamics annual · rows: 5 · periods: 6 · section: Industrial production (в России. 2023)

Electricity generation in the country was distributed by power plant type from 2017 to 2022. Rows are categorized by generation method, allowing for tracking the shares of thermal, hydroelectric, and other types of power plants in the total volume. Figures are expressed in percentages and sum to 100 percent for each year, enabling comparison of the production structure across different years

Set in numbers

The table holds 5 series, running from 2017 to 2022, 6 reporting periods. 30 values in total.

“Электроэнергия – всего” ends where it started: 100 in 2017 against 100 in 2022.

All table numbers are series: 5

How to read this table

The list presents three series: total energy production, the share of thermal power generation, and the share of hydroelectric power generation. Comparing these rows shows how the balance between different types of generation in the power sector has changed. The data allows for assessing the contribution of thermal and hydroelectric power to the total electricity generated over the entire period under review

What is visible in these numbers

“Электроэнергия – всего” leads the table with 100, “Электроэнергия — возобновляемыми источниками энергии” closes it with 0.7. The gap between them is 143-fold.
