How to read this table

The comparison of data within the table is based on comparing regions and federal districts with each other, as well as analyzing changes for each territory over two years. The rows are detailed down to the subject level, which makes it possible to see the contribution of a specific region to the national volume of crops. By selecting the required subject or district, one can trace the difference in areas allocated for grain and leguminous crops in 2022 and 2023, and determine exactly how sown areas were distributed in the specified period throughout the country

Period and application

Current information for 2022 and 2023 is useful for agronomists, agricultural analysts, and representatives of relevant departments who monitor the structure of sown areas. Rosstat prepared this snapshot based on data on the state of holdings of all categories. Materials are updated as new statistical bulletins are published, which ensures the reliability of information on the distribution of grain crops by Russian regions for further planning and monitoring of the country's agricultural sector

How it is calculated

This year’s harvest and livestock numbers determine next year’s procurement prices: processors require such series earlier than supplier price lists
