Sown areas and structure of sown areas in all types of farms, 2010–2021
From 2010 to 2021, Russian agricultural producers distributed sown areas among various crops, as reflected in these data. The list presents both national totals and breakdowns for winter cereals and other crop types. Table rows are divided into two data types: absolute area values and their percentage structure, allowing for comparison of each crop's contribution to the total sown area across different years of the period
- Total sown area — Area, thousand hectares
- Total cereals and legumes — Area, thousand hectares
- Cereals — Area, thousand hectares
- spring cereals and legumes — Area, thousand hectares
- Winter cereals — Area, thousand hectares
- winter wheat — Area, thousand hectares
- spring wheat — Area, thousand hectares

How to read this table
The choice of row depends on the purpose of the analysis, as some rows show physical area size, while others show the share of a specific crop in the total sown area structure. It is best to compare indicators by year to track the dynamics of a single crop, or between rows within a single year to assess the prevalence of specific crops in the current season. Total sown area for 2010 was 74861.418 units, whereas in 2021 the structure was expressed as 100 percent of the total volume
What is visible in these numbers
