Number of meat-producing herd mares at the end of the year, 2020–2021
Over two years, the country's meat herd mare population changed from 66 935 to 161 721 head. The list provides data for the entire Russian Federation, as well as for individual federal districts and constituent entities, such as the Southern Federal District and the Republic of Adygea. Data for 2020 and 2021 allow for a comparison of animal numbers at the end of the reporting periods across different territorial units
Chart of meat herd mare population in Russia at the end of 2020 and 2021
Set in numbers
Rosstat data for 2020–2021. Rows: 70, periods: 2. Breakdown by positions: RUSSIAN FEDERATION — Agricultural organizations; RUSSIAN FEDERATION — Peasant (farm) households …; CENTRAL FEDERAL DISTRICT — Agricultural organ…; Tver Region — Agricultural organizations; NORTHWESTERN FEDERAL DISTRICT — Peasant (farm) households … and others
Republic of Adygea — Agricultural organizations: the indicator remained unchanged at 1 000 million for 2020–2021. Of the 23 largest rows, 8 increased, 15 decreased
All table numbers are series: 70
How to read this table
The rows in the list are categorized geographically: starting with the national total, followed by data for major districts and specific regions. This enables a comparison of the scale of livestock farming across Russia with the indicators of specific constituent entities. Values should be compared by year to observe the population dynamics of mares in each of the listed districts and republics
What is visible in these numbers
Five largest values: Republic of Adygea — Agricultural organ… (1 000 million), Rostov Region — Agricultural org… (1 000 million), RUSSIAN FEDERATION — Peasant (farm) households … (161 721), RUSSIAN FEDERATION — Agricultural or… (66 935), SOUTHERN FEDERAL DISTRICT — Peasant (farm) … (14 178). The gap between the largest and smallest is 20 million times. The top five account for 100% of the total across all positions — the distribution is heavily skewed toward the top
Observations are annual; there are 2 periods in total. 50 of 50 possible values are filled (100%) — missing data are virtually absent
The same indicator for other periods
These series cannot be stitched together Over the common period 2021 values diverge — Rosstat recalculated the indicator using a revised methodology. They cannot be combined into a single chart: a break would appear at the junction, which did not actually occur
