Average salary in Novosibirsk in 2026: how much is paid and what most people receive

In the first half of 2026, the average accrued salary in Novosibirsk Oblast was 93,157 rubles per month. There is no separate row for the city itself in these tables; Rosstat publishes the region as a whole, and Novosibirsk makes up the majority of the region, so its figures give an idea of the city as well. Below we examine how the salary changed by year and month, why the region lags behind Russia in the average but not in the median, and how much remains after taxes. Novosibirsk and neighbors in Siberia

In 2025, by average salary Novosibirsk Oblast took 29th place out of 87 regions with data. Two years earlier, in 2018, it was 35th. For Siberia this is the middle of the list:

On average across the Siberian Federal District in 2025 it was 88,165 rubles, and the oblast was 0.6% higher. Already in 2018 the district was ahead of it: 37,807 versus 35,686. For comparison, the highest salary in the country is in Chukotka, 217,182 rubles, that is 2.4 times higher than Novosibirsk's, and in Moscow 181,777, that is 2.05 times higher.

How the oblast looks next to other regions is best seen in the regional salary ranking. Detailed rows for the oblast itself are collected on its page.

December: why one salary weighs as much as one and a half

Novosibirsk salary during the year is uneven. In November 2025 the average was 86,823 rubles, in December 108,293, 1.25 times more. A year earlier the jump was stronger: 76,515 rubles in November and 100,011 in December, 1.31 times. The reason is known: annual bonuses and year‑end payments fall into December accruals.

Average salary by month since 2022: the region’s December peaks and Russia’s repeat each year, while in other months the lines are smoother
Average salary by month since 2022: the region’s December peaks and Russia’s repeat each year, while in other months the lines are smoother

Therefore it is better to compare your salary with the average in a regular month such as May or October. In May 2026 the average was 95,302 rubles, in October 2025 it was 88,427. The December figure is suitable for comparison with annual income, not with your salary for a single month.

How much most people earn: median salary

The average salary is easily pulled up by a few very high wages. The median works differently: it is the amount below which exactly half of workers earn, and above which the other half earn. Rosstat calculates it every two years based on the April survey of organisations.

In April 2025 the median salary in Novosibirsk Oblast was 72,658 rubles. This is 81.0% of the average for the same group of organisations. For Russia the median was 73,871 rubles, i.e. the region lags by only 1.6%, although the lag in the average is 13%. This means that salaries in the region are distributed more evenly: a typical worker’s pay is almost the same as the national average, and there are fewer high‑pay positions. The share of the median in the Russian average is 74.3%, and in the region 81.0%; the higher it is, the smaller the gap between the “average” and the “typical” worker.
