Number of foreigners in hotels and boarding houses by region
Each year, the table shows the number of foreign citizens from different countries accommodated in collective accommodation facilities—hotels, boarding houses, and similar establishments. The figures vary by region and by time intervals within a single year: one row shows data for January, another for January–April, and a third for January–October. The indicator includes citizens of other states who chose collective accommodation rather than private apartments or the private sector

How to read this table
Values can only be compared within the same row: for example, January 2023 with January 2024, but not January 2023 with January–April 2023. This approach allows seasonal fluctuations and annual trends for the same time interval to be observed. For accurate analysis, it is important to consider that rows with different periods are not comparable due to varying observation durations

Period and application
Rosstat publishes data from 2023 to 2026. Updates occur once a year, usually in the second half of the following year. These figures are useful for tour operators developing routes, regional authorities assessing tourist attractiveness, and analysts studying migration flows and tourist activity
How it is calculated
Data on accommodated persons and tourist flows are used to assess hotel occupancy, plan accommodation investments, and analyze seasonality
