In 2023, 88.59 percent of the Russian population had access to quality drinking water from centralized water supply systems, compared to 85.6484 percent in 2018. The series covers the period from 2018 to 2023 and includes 86 rows, broken down by constituent entities of the country and the total for the Russian Federation. The data allow for tracking changes in water provision both in specific regions and nationwide over the last six years

How to read this table

The table structure enables comparison between regions, with each row containing data for an individual constituent entity, starting with the Belgorod and Bryansk regions. Comparing these rows with the total for the Russian Federation helps identify parts of the country where the level of quality water provision is above or below the average. Each row reflects annual changes, making it possible to assess the dynamics of water supply system modernization projects in each specific region

Top five values: Kursk Region (96.8), Lipetsk Region (94.8), Moscow Region (94.5), Oryol Region (94.2), Tula Region (93.5). The top five account for 22.1% of the total across all positions

The data are published by Rosstat and updated as new reports are received, ensuring the relevance of information for analyzing access to clean water. The materials are suitable for evaluating the effectiveness of regional infrastructure development programs and monitoring target indicators of citizens' quality of life
