In 2018, 93.21 percent of urban residents in Russia were provided with quality drinking water from centralized systems, and by 2023, the figure reached 94.99 percent. Each region of the country is presented in a separate row, allowing for tracking resource availability in a specific constituent entity. The information covers the period from 2018 to 2023 inclusive, is measured in percent, and reflects the state of utility infrastructure for the urban population by constituent entity of the Russian Federation

How to read this table

Table rows facilitate comparison of indicators, providing the share of the provided population for each region. Residents of different constituent entities face varying conditions of water supply networks, so data is distributed by territorial attribute. Users can compare the current level of provision in a specific region with the national total and see how the situation in a selected region has changed over six years of observation

What is visible in these numbers

The five highest values: Kursk Region (99.9), Vladimir Region (99.5), Yaroslavl Region (99.4), Ryazan Region (99.3), Kaliningrad Region (99.2). The top five account for 21.3% of the total sum across all positions

Observations are annual and cover 6 periods. Cells with numbers: 150 out of 150 (100%); data gaps are virtually absent

Data for 2018–2023 is updated by Rosstat as reporting is accumulated. The publication will be useful to housing and communal services specialists, experts monitoring the achievement of sustainable development goals, and anyone interested in the state of water supply systems in Russian cities. The information is presented in an annual format, which simplifies long-term analysis of the urban environment and the quality of life of the population in different parts of the country

How it is calculated

Noted in the source itself: Data up to and including 2021 are published without taking the results of the 2020 All-Russia Population Census into account
