Structure of livestock population by category of farms: Rosstat
Over four years, the structure of livestock in Russia has changed little, but the breakdown by type of farm shows where the main volumes are concentrated: agricultural organizations, households and peasant (farmer) households. The table rows differ by these categories, while the columns show each category’s share of the total livestock at year-end. Data are published as percentages, so each row sums to 100 percent for every year, clearly reflecting each category’s contribution

How to read this table
The table distinguishes three farm types, so comparisons should focus on the shares of each category each year. Agricultural organizations and households traditionally hold the bulk of livestock, while the share of farms remains noticeably smaller but is gradually rising. For analysis it is important to look not at absolute figures but at the percentage distribution, since the total livestock volume changes from year to year
What is visible in these numbers
Five highest values: Bryansk Region — Agricultural organ… (94.6), Kaluga Region — Agricultural organ… (91.9), Vladimir Region — Agricultural organ… (90.9), Central Federal District — Agricultural organ… (81.8), Belgorod Region — Agricultural organ… (78.7). The gap between the highest and lowest is 30.6 times. The top five account for 48.6% of the total for all positions
Observations are annual and cover 2 periods. Cells with numbers: 50 out of 50 (100%); data gaps are virtually absent
