How to read this table

The variations between rows allow for the analysis of crop structures at various levels, from the national scale down to specific regions or districts. By comparing Russian Federation data with regional values, the contribution of each constituent entity to the total forage base can be assessed. The list includes both territorial units of varying scales and aggregate national indicators, enabling the tracking of resource distribution across the entire territory of Russia

What is visible in these numbers

The five highest values are: Russian Federation (16 993), Central Federal District (3 565), North-Western Federal District (959.8), Tver Region (435.4), Bryansk Region (406). The gap between the highest and the lowest is 1 486 times. The top five account for 88.2% of the total across all entries — the distribution is heavily skewed toward the top

Observations are annual, with 6 observation periods in the dataset. There are 150 values in the table out of 150 possible, that is 100%, so the table is almost entirely filled

Period and application

The statistics are published annually and cover the period from 2015 to 2022. The data is relevant for agro-industrial complex specialists involved in forage base planning, as well as for agricultural researchers and economists. The information is compiled for all types of farms, including large organizations and private household plots, ensuring a comprehensive account of land resource use
