Length of heating and steam networks in two-pipe equivalent, 2021–2022

· dynamics annual · rows: 11 · periods: 2 · section: publications of official statistical information on socio-economic development

In 2021, there were 6349.56 kilometers of networks on the land territories of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation, and by 2022, the figure was 6339.2 kilometers. The statistics cover two years and are broken down into eleven rows by specific Arctic regions, including the Murmansk Oblast and the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. The indicator is calculated in double-pipe equivalent, helping to assess the scale of the heat supply infrastructure in the country's northern latitudes

How to read this table

Comparing rows shows the difference in infrastructure development among the constituent entities of the Arctic zone. Individual rows cover both the total Arctic territories and specific administrative units. By comparing 2021 and 2022 data, changes in network length can be tracked for each region individually, providing insight into the state of heating and steam networks under the harsh climate and remote settlement conditions of the Arctic

What is visible in these numbers

“For reference: Russian Federation” leads the table with 167,220, “Nenets Autonomous Okrug” closes it with 100. The gap between them is 1,664-fold.

Period and application

Data is updated annually by Rosstat and includes figures for 2021 and 2022. The materials are intended for housing and communal services specialists, infrastructure project analysts, and researchers of the socio-economic development of Arctic regions studying the state of engineering networks in double-pipe equivalent
