Greenhouse gas emissions in agriculture by year

· dynamics annual · rows: 6 · periods: 12 · section: Environment

Volume of greenhouse gas emissions from Russian agriculture in CO2 equivalent for each year from 2005 to 2023. The table contains six rows, three of which detail emissions by source: total, enteric fermentation of livestock, and manure management systems, meaning other rows show different sources, such as fuel combustion and soil management. Values are in million tonnes of CO2 equivalent, annual series, covering the entire country and updated annually to facilitate tracking dynamics and comparing the contribution of various sources to the total

How to read this table

The rows distinguish between aggregate indicators and specific emission sources. Comparing the total row with enteric fermentation or manure management figures allows for assessing the share of each process in the total emission volume. This highlights which specific agricultural practices contribute most to the greenhouse effect in Russia during the specified period

What is visible in these numbers

The largest value belongs to “Total” — 101; the smallest is “rice cultivation” at 0.662. The gap between them is 153-fold.
