Hazardous hydrometeorological phenomena on the territory of the Russian Federation

Dangerous hydrometeorological phenomena include strong winds, floods, droughts and other natural events that can damage the economy and population. The table compiles annual data on the number of such phenomena, enabling analysis of changes in their frequency and study of factors influencing their occurrence. The figures help assess the scale of natural threats and develop risk reduction measures

How to read this table

Table rows categorize phenomena into three groups: total number of dangerous hydrometeorological events, number of predicted and unpredicted events. Note the increase in the total number of phenomena, which may be linked both to climate change and to expanded monitoring systems. Compare data over time to identify trends and regional differences

What is visible in these numbers

“ leads the table with 1,131, “ closes it with 14. The gap between them is 80.8-fold.
