Emissions of common air pollutants from stationary sources
Volumes of pollutants released into the atmosphere from stationary sources are recorded for Belarus and Russia from 2005 to 2023. The rows in the list are categorized by country and specific pollutant type, allowing for a comparison of total indicators and the share of particulate matter. Data is presented on an annual basis and covers nearly two decades of observations

How to read this table
Differences between rows allow for separating total national emissions from indicators for specific groups, such as particulate matter. Comparing the series for Belarus and Russia shows the difference in the scale of atmospheric pollution from stationary sources in these countries. The indicators in the table reflect annual dynamics for the specified period
What is visible in these numbers
Highest values: carbon monoxide — Russia (6,521), hydrocarbons (including volatile organic compounds) — Russia (4,980), hydrocarbons (including volatile organic compounds) — Belarus (246). The gap between the highest and lowest is 1,304 times. The top three account for 96.2% of the total across all items — the distribution is heavily skewed toward the top
Observations are annual; total periods 7. 175 of 175 possible values are filled (100%), meaning the table is almost entirely complete

Period and application
Statistics are published annually and cover a time series from 2005 to 2023. The information is relevant for environmental monitoring and analysis of the state of the environment in both countries. Rosstat data helps to assess the scale of anthropogenic impact on the atmosphere in the long term
How it is calculated
Noted in the source itself: For Belarus from 2015 — according to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus. For Russia from 2015 — including individual entrepreneurs. From 2020 — according to data from Rosprirodnadzor. From 2022 — solid particles (undifferentiated dust (aerosol) by composition)
