Representatives of the most numerous ethnic groups in Kirov Oblast indicated which languages they speak during the 2020 All-Russian Population Census. The 119 rows group data on those who reported language proficiency, specific languages including English, and information on those who did not state their ethnicity. This is a one-time snapshot showing the linguistic landscape of the region at the time of the census, covering both the total population of the oblast and individual groups based on their self-identification

It is possible to compare the number of people speaking the same language across different ethnic groups or the extent of language skills within a single ethnic group. The extreme values show the scale of the data: from 1077125 people, comprising the total population, to 17788 citizens who chose not to state their ethnicity on the census forms
