Of 275 possible values, 260 (94.5%) are filled. There are gaps, but they are isolated: for some positions, observations were not always conducted

Period and application
The data were obtained during the 2020 All-Russian Population Census and are presented in the fifth volume of the results. These data are in demand by linguists, sociologists, and ethnographers studying the linguistic situation in the Irkutsk Region. The information is final and current as of the completion of the census, providing a detailed cross-section of language proficiency without longitudinal data. Rosstat published these indicators for a wide range of users interested in the demographics and composition of the Russian population
How it is calculated
Census results on ethnic composition and languages are used in planning the school teaching of native languages, assessing the need for translation of public services, and in ethnographic research
