Language proficiency and language use among the population of Chelyabinsk Region
3,043,062 residents of the Chelyabinsk Region reported their language proficiency during the 2020 All-Russian Population Census. The statistics cover a wide range of languages, from the state language to the languages of the peoples of Russia, and are broken down by urban and rural population. The 172 rows group data on the number of people proficient in a given language and the portion of those who use it in daily communication, allowing for an assessment of the linguistic environment in the region

Period and application
The results of the 2020 All-Russian Population Census form the basis of this dataset, reflecting the linguistic profile of the region at the time of the survey. This information will assist linguists, sociologists, and educational professionals studying the ethnocultural composition of the Chelyabinsk Region. Rosstat prepared this data as part of the fifth volume of the census, dedicated to national composition and language proficiency, to provide access to accurate information on the country's linguistic diversity
