Period and application
The 2020 All-Russian Population Census recorded the linguistic skills of the republic's residents, providing an official basis for ethnocultural analysis. For researchers, linguists, and sociologists, this information helps assess the preservation of linguistic diversity and communication practices in daily conditions. The materials are available for use in scientific work and state programs aimed at supporting the linguistic environment in the constituent entity of the Russian Federation
How it is calculated
Census results on ethnic composition and languages are used for planning the school teaching of native languages, assessing the need for translation of public services, and in ethnographic research
