Languages spoken and used by the population: Republic of Khakassia
More than four hundred and forty thousand residents of the Republic of Khakassia indicated which languages they speak and use in daily communication during the 2020 All-Russian Population Census. The table contains 112 rows, each dedicated to a specific language, including Azerbaijani and others, as well as the total number of persons reporting language proficiency. Columns distinguish between urban and rural populations, separately recording the total number of language speakers and the number of those who use it in daily life. This allows for an assessment of the region's linguistic diversity and the frequency of language use in different types of settlements

Period and application
Data were obtained as part of the results of the 2020 All-Russian Population Census, Volume 5. The data provide a snapshot of the linguistic situation in the Republic of Khakassia at the time of the survey. The statistics will be useful to linguists, ethnographers, and researchers studying the ethnic composition and cultural characteristics of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation for an in-depth analysis of the linguistic environment in modern Russian regions
How it is calculated
Census results on ethnic composition and languages are used for planning school instruction of native languages, assessing the need for translation of public services, and ethnographic research
