The statistics are useful for linguists, sociologists and researchers of Yakutia’s ethno‑cultural composition studying the present language situation. Rosstat prepared this snapshot without dynamic periods, fixing the state of the language environment in the republic at a specific point in time

Census results on ethnic composition and languages are used in planning the school teaching of native languages, assessing the need for translation of public services, and in ethnographic research
