922562 people in the Republic of Buryatia reported language proficiency according to the 2020 All-Russian Population Census, while 392357 rural residents use a language in daily life. Data are distributed across 127 rows, with each entry representing a specific language or language group. Period and application
The materials are based on the 2020 All-Russian Population Census data published by Rosstat in the fifth volume of the results. The information is presented as a cross-section without time series. This data is useful for linguists, sociologists, and demographers studying the ethnocultural composition of the Republic of Buryatia and the preservation of the linguistic environment among various population groups living in the region's urban and rural areas

Census results on ethnic composition and languages are used in planning the school teaching of native languages, assessing the need for translation of public services, and in ethnographic research
