Language proficiency and language use by the population of Pskov Region
One hundred and nineteen languages are listed, and for each, the population of the Pskov Region proficient in or using it in daily life is provided. The breakdown by urban and rural population helps to see where speakers of specific languages live and how often they use them in daily communication. The information was obtained during the 2020 All-Russian Population Census and is recorded as a data snapshot for the period of the study, without annual breakdowns

Period and application
The 2020 All-Russian Population Census served as the source of this information. The data are presented in the fifth volume of the census results, dedicated to ethnic composition and language proficiency. The statistics will be useful to linguists, sociologists, and researchers of demographic processes for analyzing the ethnolinguistic situation in the Pskov Region. The regularity of such publications is determined by the schedule of All-Russian censuses; therefore, the figures presented remain a current snapshot as of the completion of the large-scale survey
