Period and application
The statistics were prepared based on the 2020 All-Russian Population Census and are relevant for researchers, ethnographers, and specialists studying the demographic composition of Kuzbass. Data are presented as a snapshot without time-series dynamics, as they reflect the state at the time of the survey. The information is useful for analyzing the linguistic environment and understanding how actively various ethnic groups preserve their languages in daily life in urban and rural areas of Kemerovo Region

Census results on ethnic composition and languages are used in planning the school teaching of native languages, assessing the need for translation of public services, and in ethnographic research
