Language proficiency and language use among the population of Kaliningrad Region
Residents of Kaliningrad Oblast in the 2020 census reported the languages they know and those they use in daily communication. The 146 rows list various languages, from Avar onward, and the number of speakers. Indicators are split between urban and rural populations, showing the extent of each language in different settlement types. Rosstat prepared this snapshot based on the 2020 census, capturing the region’s linguistic picture at the time of the survey

The 2020 census results on linguistic composition are relevant for ethnographers and sociologists studying the regional specifics of Kaliningrad Oblast. These data show the current state of linguistic diversity in the region without reference to dynamic trends, based on the universal population survey
