National composition of the population of the Karachay-Cherkess Republic
The 2020 All-Russian Population Census determined the population of the Karachay-Cherkess Republic by ethnicity. Ninety-four rows provide both total results and individual ethnic groups, such as the Abazins. Columns distribute this data by place of residence—urban or rural—as well as by gender, providing a demographic snapshot of the republic at the time of this large-scale statistical survey

Period and application

How it is calculated
Census results on ethnic composition and languages are used in planning the school teaching of native languages, assessing the need for translation of public services, and in ethnographic research
