Nearly three decades of agricultural development in figures: this table shows the share of different agricultural crops in the total sown area of peasant farms and individual entrepreneurs. The period covers 1996 to 2024. The table contains 25 rows, with the first representing the total area and the others detailing it by crop type, including cereals, legumes, and wheat. The table rows are categorized by agricultural crop type, allowing for a comparison of the specific weight of each within the total sown area. You can compare the indicators for cereals and legumes with the total sown volume and observe the dynamics of the wheat share in the land use structure of farmers and individual entrepreneurs. Since all data are presented as a percentage of the total area, these values clearly demonstrate the reallocation of sown areas between different crop types for each year

What is visible in these numbers

Five largest values: Total sown area (100), Grain and leguminous crops (75.1), wheat (46), Industrial crops (25.9), oil crops (25). Gap between the largest and smallest — by 2 000 times. The top five account for 75% of the total sum across all positions — distribution is heavily skewed toward the top

The data cover the period from 1996 to 2024 and are updated annually by Rosstat. This information is useful for agronomists, economists, and agricultural researchers to analyze the specialization of farm holdings and individual entrepreneurs in the Russian Federation

How it is calculated

Rosstat notes: Data for 2007–2017 are adjusted to reflect the results of the 2016 All-Russia Agricultural Census. Data exclude statistical information for the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), Luhansk People’s Republic (LPR), Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions

1) Данные за 2007-2017 годы приведены с учетом итогов Всероссийской сельскохозяйственной переписи 2016 года.

2) Данные без учета статистической информации по Донецкой Народной Республике (ДНР), Луганской Народной Республике (ЛНР), Запорожской и Херсонской областям.
