How to read this table

Comparing rows allows for an assessment of the differences in access to safe drinking water between Russia's regions. The table records values for each constituent entity, making it possible to see where indicators are above or below the national average. Comparing 2018 and 2022 data helps identify trends in the improvement or decline of water accessibility and assess the effectiveness of regional water supply modernization programs within the framework of sustainable development goals

What is visible in these numbers

The five highest values are: Kursk Region (96.7), Lipetsk Region (94.6), Moscow Region (93.5), Oryol Region (93), Tula Region (93). The top five account for 22.1% of the total sum across all positions

Observations are annual; there are 5 periods in total. 125 of 125 possible values are filled (100%), with almost no empty cells remaining

Period and application

The data cover the period from 2018 to 2022 and are updated annually by Rosstat. The statistics are useful for specialists in ecology and housing and communal services, regional authorities, and researchers studying population quality of life. Data from the Sustainable Development Goals yearbook allow for monitoring progress in providing citizens with clean water and planning further measures to upgrade centralized water supply infrastructure across the country

How it is calculated

The yearbook provides comparable series for reports where reference to own calculations is insufficient
