Table rows are categorized by territory, from federal districts to specific regions. The data covers the entire country and includes both the total number of SPNAs and the number of locally managed areas. Regional comparisons are based on the difference in the number of sites at different management levels. Columns indicate the total number of areas and their share of locally managed SPNAs. It is possible to track the portion of the protected fund concentrated in a specific federal district or region. This helps illustrate the extent of the specially protected area network in different parts of the country and the proportion of local sites within the overall structure

Period and application
The data is published as part of the environmental protection bulletin. The information is current as of 2016 and represents a single snapshot rather than a time series. These figures are useful for ecologists, regional administration officials, and those studying the state of the natural fund and the structure of the protected area network in the Russian Federation

Such rows are needed when preparing non-financial reports and when verifying a contractor's statements regarding its environmental impact
